C12 Upgrade Drop Armrest Bedside Commode

This drop arm bedside commode has been very helpful to use with my husband after he had an accident and surgery. We are not elderly and you don't think you will need something like this until you do and I am so thankful that we got this as soon as we did because it really made life so much easier. This commode is a standard sized and not an oversize commode so it can fit over most toilets with ease if you prefer to do that instead of using the bucket. This commode on top of a regular toilet allows someone to hold on and get up with ease, plus you can adjust the height of this bedside commode so that they don't have to bend down so far. For us, this was first used with the bucket beside the bed and as time went on we transitioned to over the toilet until he no longer needed assistance. The bucket is a good size as to not overflow when you use it. I bought commode liners to put inside the bucket (not included) to make clean up easier however this is a heavy plastic that you can simply dump and wash if you don't want to use the liners. The weight limit is 300 pounds so it can hold quite a bit. It does have some weight to it but not too heavy for the average person to move around. It was easy to put together and I had it installed in less than a half hour. The seat has some cushion to it which is nice and more comfortable to sit and use. The seat is also a material that is super simple to wipe down and clean. The seat does not stain easily. The legs are heavy duty aluminum and feel like they will hold up well and that this will last a long time. This doesn't slide around while in use. My favorite feature is the drop down arms. This allows you to customize how you would like to use the commode, with or without the arms up and it makes getting up so much easier. Overall I'm really happy with this and it was a great investment. I feel the current list price of $149.99 is a fair price and the current sale price of $109.99 is a great value in my personal opinion.

I think it says the weight limit is 300 lbs. Wipe this down, there are no folds, tucks, or creases to hold any matter or liquid. The solid feel puts the user at ease. No one wants to use this handy item for fun, so when the need presents itself, this firmly built seat can support you night or day.
I did not ask for assistance and put the chair together in minutes. I can raise or lower the height depending on my needs with little effort. The removable basket/bucket slides smoothly in and out, is large enough to hold items at a distance and that prevents splashing. One of the best features are the arms. You can pull up while leaning on these sturdy arms, you can lean on these arms to rest after the struggle of getting to the chair, and finally, you can choose not to use the arms at all. How's that for versatility? The back support is an added bonus not normally associated with toilet time but what an added bonus. This support is a comfort and a source of strength. When I tore my Achilles tendon back in the mid-2000s, my life as I knew it had changed. For the better part of a year, I could not bend or squat without significant pain. Using the restroom became very difficult as it took everything I had to be able to get up from the sitting position. Now, twenty years later, I am getting older and even though my Achilles is fine, it is starting to get harder to stand up after sitting down. Because of this I decided to order this Homland bedside commode chair. This chair is actually a dual-function item. One, it can be kept at my bedside when I go to bed for the night. Then if I wake up in the middle of the night, I can attach the removable commode bucket and not have to walk to the bathroom to relieve myself. The second thing is that if I really have no issue walking to the bathroom and back, I can use this chair as a raised toilet seat that straddles my existing toilet seat. The chair allows me to sit and use the toilet without having to get so low which makes it exponentially easier to stand back up. This Homland chair is a knee-saver and really helps me stand back up after using the restroom. A few other things about this chair that I find to be big positives:
1. The seat is padded, with foam filling over an inch thick so it is comfortable to sit on.
2. There are multiple heights the seat can be adjusted to, from 20 inches to 24 inches. It took me a few times, but I tried multiple settings until I found the perfect one.
3. The feet are non-slip, so when standing up there really is no chance of a slip and fall.
4. If using this as a bedside commode, I can easily slide from my bed onto the chair because the chair's armrests drop down with a push of a button.
5. The weight limit is 300 pounds, so this chair is perfect for more than 97% of the population. I am very satisfied with this purchase. I have no issue anymore getting up from being seated at the toilet on my Homland seat. I am impressed with the durability, the ease of assembly, and the functionality. I look forward to being able to use this for as long as it helps me. Plus, the price of $120 makes this a great value. I just received this bedside commode chair and will be using it for my upcoming knee surgery. My bedroom is on the lower level of the house, but the bathroom is on the 2nd level. I have a chair lift for the stairs, but in the middle of the night, it takes some time and effort to get out of bed, up the chair lift, and to the bathroom. That will definitely be an inconvenience after my surgery. So I got this bedside commode to use during the night in particular. It was pretty easy to put together, with mostly click button assembly. The chair height is easy to adjust. The arms can be lowered, but I doubt I'll be doing that. I'll need to use the arms to help me sit down and get back up. They feel sturdy enough to do that. The frame feels plenty sturdy for my 200 pound weight. One of my favorite features is the padded seat and backrest. I had a bedside commode a number of years back, and that chair didn't have any padding at all...just hard plastic. So this is a nice change. The bucket does have a lid, but just as important, it has a carrying handle. This will make carrying the bucket upstairs on the chair lift so easy. It's an overall nice design with well thought out features.

I've had a bedside commode but after surgery recovery thought I'd never need another one. Surprise! So I ordered this one as the drop-down arm and aesthetics were appealing.

There were very few parts to assemble which was great, but if there's a wrong way to do something simple, I'll find it. I put two of the legs into the arm holes, but it took but a couple of minutes to correct so no big deal. Then attached the arm rests with the star knobs and hex screws, and got a pair of pliers to tighten because they defeat hand tightening.

I was a little confused about the bucket because neither the parts list nor instructions showed the two parts of the bucket. It was nestled in a lining, seeming to be one piece. It didn't fit until I separated them, putting the plastic bottomless part in before the bucket. ?I'm uncertain why this design but they must have a reason that escapes me.

Once assembled, I spread out a small tarp with towels over because I use it over carpeting. I did that with my other one and didn't get any drips, but that wasn't the case with this one. The space between the bucket and front is a little too large for my anatomy. Might be fine for someone else, but let's just say the tarp was a solid plan! The bucket has a handle and is easily taken out to dump by lifting the seat, then lifting it out. There is a lid to help control any odor. The seat is pretty hard and uncomfortable for me. It could be that the seat has less actual seating area than my other one did.

The height is adjustable. I'm 5'7" and there are two more holes to make it taller. My toilets are ADA, I'm used to higher ones, and this commode can accommodate any height. The drop arm is great. I'm not in a wheelchair, but navigate crutches and the arm down makes it a lot easier.

Wiping it down to clean is easy, the drop arm is great, but for me the biggest issue is seat discomfort. The front drip is manageable because I put protection underneath (always a good idea.) Aesthetics are solid!
